North Nineteen is nice and friendly... good food, reasonable prices, huge portions and a short 10 minute walk to the Emirates, and so especially convenient for Arsenal fans ! The service is quick friendly and efficient and it's our 2nd visit, so it must be pretty good, because we almost never go back to the same place twice ! House wine was well priced and it's hard to fault the place, other than I wish they'd turn up the heating, as it was cold inside ... just like the first time ! Will be back

I went to North Nineteen for dinner on Friday with my partner. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. The service from the barman/waiter was fun and friendly and the food was sensational. We had a great night and will definitely be returning soon.

N19 is a bit of a surprise... nice 'home cooking' in a most unexpected location. Mein Host was friendly and keen to please without being intrusive. I'll definitely go again, especially given it's proximity to the Arsenal football ground. Perfect for a quick bite before an evening game. I couldn't fault it.

The staff at North Nineteen near Holloway did everything they could to make us feel welcome. I went for a meal there with six friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Three of us had the rib eye steak and it was excellent. The staff kept checking that everything was ok for us and made recommendations on food. Apparently they have an excellent whisky selection too, didn't try them as it was a school night but we will be back to sample at another time.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The barman was friendly and full of good banter as was Tony the owner, who was knowledgeable and local. They both had good knowledge of the menu and accompanying wines. We were joined by our good friends who were made to feel equally as welcome and we had a throughly enjoyable afternoon. All in all a very pleasant Sunday afternoon roast experience.

OMG! I NEVER say OMG. I rarely write acronyms at all let alone in caps. But North Nineteen deserves it. Hosting by our maitre d' excelled; sincere and attentive, that mix of informality and e.s.p. you crave, even as N19 filled up. And the food! Original, sublimely tasty (how did the chef make me like coleslaw, to the extent I ran my finger around the bowl?!) Highly recommend the pulled pork (unctuous) and fish n chips with stupidly tasty mushy peas. And squid. Sprint don't run. It's that good.

Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome this afternoon and for the quality of the beer! Sadly could only stay for one but will return for pleanty more with my friends soon.

Best Regards Michael

This is a great, lovely local pub with a real difference. Tony and his staff are so friendly and always remember who you are. It is very welcoming but also very relaxing. We have tried the sunday roasts on many occassions and they are divine and so fresh. They have recently established trhemselves as a steak house which we have yet to sample, however we are looking forward to it very much. This is a cracking little pub with great food and atmosphere...well worth a visit.

Initial impression: welcoming room with roaring fire. No background music! Fantastic! To our dismay we were told that it had just gone off and would be back on in seconds. We were led to another room, where the music could be (and was turned off) - fab, bit chilly though. Our waiter made a great fuss of us, the food was terrific and, learning it was my birthday, a delicious slab of chocolate praline with candle was produced. Altogether a very enjoyable evening.

Really good service, and excellent food. We didn't get our complimentary glasses of wine though (but I only just realised, I'm sure we would have if we'd reminded them)

Met up with some local friends, so thought we would try somewhere local to us. North Nineteen turned out to be a gem in a residential area. The service was faultless - I was quite taken with the personal service in a pub. Nice touch! The other highlight is the food - delicious and very very good value. Have the 3 course menu if that's the only food you're going to have the whole day!

The owner greeted us very warmly and made us feel at ease. The menu is not large and there is not enough variety of starters. There was a real buzz in the restaurant, and everyone enjoyed was enjoying themselves.

Great value, not greatest location, but worth the hunt to find it.

North Nineteen provided a really excellent local experience. A warm welcome, friendly staff, relaxed ambience was accompanied by lovely and generously portioned modern pub food. Among dishes praised by the 3 of us were a ceasars salad and a very tasty liver pate among the starters. As for mains the lamb rump and the steak were well cooked to order and flavoursome and the burger was brilliantly spiced and obviously made from good quality meat.Good puds too. Fairly priced booze. Will return.

North Nineteen is a gastropub in Holloway serving grill type food. The set menus offer really good value for money, the steaks are excellent and the fish and chips is some of the best you will find in North London. There is no stinting on the portions and  the staff are affable. The ambience is relaxed and the staff attentive. A good find here!

North 19 is a great little local pub, run by an accomodating landlord. A lovely bloke who understands how to keep customers happy. Though very few landlords make an effort nowadays,  this one makes up for all the others. Bar is stocked with a good selection of Ales and an even better collection of whiskey. Two distinct bar areas and various gardens and terraces offer a nice mix of places to relax. Food is very honest, good size portions and cheaper than some 'gastro' pubs offer, this kitchen is worthy of the term 'gastro' only, without the arrogance. If you want a real pub, run by the owner with a local, friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go. Tell the owner you're a local and you'll have the keys to place in no time.

We went to North Nineteen last Sunday.  Friendly welcome from the landlord. It was very quiet and we tried the Sunday lunch - beef, lamb and chicken. The beef was ok , lamb was better,  chicken was good,  yorkshires were lovely, roasties were huge and not that crispy, vegetables were superb especially the carrots, gravy was delicious.  For pud we tried the Strawberry Eton Mess which was bascially a large dollop of cream with a small amount of meringue and and good amount of strawberries - nothing wrong with that though! Would have been enhanced by serving with small spoons. Beer was good. 2 adults and one childs portions - 1 beer and 2 soft drinks - total price £34. Felt like good value fo rthe money with the potential to be better, Made us want to go back for more.  Time for locals who like real ale to support a landlord trying to do the right thing.  I will definitely be back to sample more ale and we will try the food another night.

I went over to London just before the holidays and tried out North Nineteen. the food was excellent.  Traditional English food that was prepared better than I'v ever had in London before.  there are two separate areas of the bar and a quaint sitting room just off the bar.  Wasn't able to stay there because they were already booked, but I 'll try again next time.  I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone that thinks traditional English food is bland.  This pub will change your thinking.
